This Indian wicketkeeper batsman hasn’t been that regular member of the Indian cricket team due the presence of the previous captain MS Dhoni. He debuted for the Indian team in the year 2004. He is a regular wicket keeper as we all know and he has proved his hitting abilities as he smashed off 28 runs from just 9 deliveries to make India win the Nidahas trophy against Bangladesh. But being at an age of 31 years he cannot be a longtime investment for the team management.

After the retirement of MS Dhoni from test cricket this Bengali cricketer has been the  primary go to wicket keeper even if doesn’t have that good batting average. But most probably when MS retires 2-3 years later he would be around 34 as he is 31 years now. He would have been a good replacement for the captain cool as of his keeping potentials but his age plays the odds against him.

We have all seen this 26 years old Karnataka wicketkeeper batsman hitting maximums all around the field. He can be considered for the place of MS Dhoni on the basis of his batting but not quite often seen behind the stumps. He can be tried as Rahul Dravid did for the team a decade before showing his skills with the gloves. His abilities as a wicket keeper have yet to be justified but once he works on his behind the stumps skills he will be no less a boon for the Indian cricket team.
