The Indian team has become unstoppable from past few years under the guidance of the veteran cricketer Ravi Shastri (the current head coach of the Indian team) but now as his term has come to an end, BCCI is in search of such a talented coach who could guide this top of the table team further in future.
For the positions of coaching staffs of Indian team around two thousand (2000) applications has been received by BCCI and few big names are also involved in it who want to guide the Indian team as head coach for next few years.
Ravi Shastri, the current head coach has reapplied for the position and has an intent to continue with the same until the next term. Either politics or sports a change is always necessary for every field because a change in a certain arena helps the community to improve. Though the Indian team is at its best a change in head coach will give the team a new vision and help them to improve in some or other aspects.
Apart from this few other veteran cricketers like Tom Moddy, Mike Hesson, Mahela JAYAWARDANE, Trevor Bayliss, Mickey Arthur, Lalchan Rajput, and Robin Singh are also interested to coach the Indian team and have applied for it.
Gary Kirsten the former head coach of Indian team is also an applicant for the respective position. His contribution to the Indian team will always be remembered as under his guidance India won the 2011 World cup.

As per the rumors of BCCI officials, it’s being said that there is more probability of Ravi Shastri continuing as the head coach for the next term because of his good performance from the last few years.
Under his coaching tenure, India won a maiden test series in Australia and also made it to the semi-finals this year in World Cup 2019.
Among the 2000 applicants, the selected ones will be up for the interview on August 14 or 15 and the result of the entire coaching staff along with the head coach of the Indian team will be declared after the end of West Indies Tour.
According to us a change in coach is always necessary, it will help in improving the team quite more. Among the above, the two best alternatives of Ravi Shastri as head coach could be TOM MOODY and MAHELA JAYAWARDENE.
