There are lots of predictions and anticipations going all around the cricketing fraternity for the upcoming India-England Test series. Will the English be able keep up their winning jinx against the sub continental giants in Tests or the visitors will return with the silverware of the series in England after 11 years!!
Let’s take a break and talk about what’s expected to happen in the upcoming test series. The T20 series even turned to be a poor run for their team in their own soil but very soon they took it back from the visitors in the succeeding ODI series.
English pitches have a history of not favoring any visiting batsman due to the movement the ball gains after hitting these English tracks. The moist pitches and overcast conditions have always made life difficult for them. But, global warming has at a sense hit England the most as it seems. The heat waves and the dry conditions prevailing are being said to worse than what The Old Blighty experienced back in the late 1970s.
With the mercury reaching new heights and less sings of precipitation most of the pitches lie dry and dusty. This will take the pacers out of the equation, and make spinners more important.
Does that mean that England no longer holds the edge over India?
Heatwave has surely turned things around. With the English including Adil Rashid in the squad for the tests it’s a clear sign of the dry conditions prevailing over the previously seam friendly green pitches of the typical English conditions.
After facing the miserable loss of the previous test series in England 4 year down in the calendar, it’s a good opportunity for the young Virat and Co. to prove themselves upto their marks outside the sub-continental conditions.
So here we have our Predicted Playing XI for the 1st Test to be held in the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.
