MS DHONI has been a great contributor and leader for the Indian team since 2004. His contribution to the Indian team has been phenomenal.
Every cricket fan has witnessed his amazing match-winning knocks and ability to lead the team in tough situations.
But after his retirement, it had been trouble for the management to find a player with such potential.
Hardik Pandya is a sweet timer of the ball and was given the responsibility to take over the job of MS.
After a break of almost 1 year from cricket due to injury Pandya was back with the same form in IPL 2020.
His ability to hit long across the boundary has made him a prime contributor to the Indian team.
But after the departure of Dhoni, there was a big question on Pandya, whether he would be able to replicate the role of MS DHONI for India.
And he proved the haters wrong with his amazing knocks in the ODI’s against Australia.
His knocks of 90 & 92 came when the team was suffering against the fiery Australian bowling attack.
Hardik’s style of playing in both the innings was quite surprising and responsible.
Everyone has witnessed Hardik Pandya as a pinch hitter for the team but his winnings from the ODIs proved that he has become quite mature and responsible for his position in the team.
Basically, the middle order is a position where the batsman is handed the charge to take the game forward and finish it off.
And being a middle-order batsman it’s quite important for Pandya to spend time on the crease and play more deliveries.
Once the batsman is acquainted with the wicket and the bowlers it becomes quite easy for him to put runs on the board.
H Pandya following footsteps of MS Dhoni
MS DHONI has been a great believer of this strategy and that’s the reason behind his records even after batting down the order.
Hardik Pandya even seems to follow the footsteps of MS from the last two games.
India even after having Pandya in the team, is playing with 5 bowlers in Australia tour and that was quite surprising.
But if you look after the other side of the context, Team India management is doing a great job by sticking to this decision.
If he would have been playing as an all-rounder, he would be always having an option to perform either with the bat or ball.
But once he is there in the team as an important middle-order batsman it will make him feel his importance for the team and even for his position.
This decision of the management is appreciable and will also benefit Pandya to grow as a cricketer in the future.
MS DHONI is a legend and comparing him with any other cricketer would be disrespectful for him as well as the youngster.
As we all know experience matters, MS has gone through many tough situations in cricket and that’s what made him reach this stature.
Similarly, every cricketer grows with time, even Hardik Pandya has and there is no doubt that someday Pandya would be one of the greatest all-rounders of the world.
His talent and experiences will make him reach heights.
